Rodney Best was enlisted in Pittsburg Pennsylvania on January 23, 1943. He was a first class private which meant he was meant to fulfill orders a build leadership skills. His company was in charge of gathering air division data and reporting back. His company also occupied parts of Germany from may 2nd to October 35, 1945. It is unclear as to what devices he used during his service but we can assume he used devices such as the field radio to keep in contact with his commanding officers. He died on August 20th, 1944. He is buried in Normandy American Cemetery And memorial in plot b. row 13, grave 19.
